There is no TFSS meeting this month, however we invite you to join your fellow members for a very informal tour of the rare fruit tree collection at Palma Sola Botanical Park in west Bradenton.
We’ll gather near the entrance at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27, for an easy walk around the 75-tree collection that is maintained by our sister club, the Manatee Rare Fruit Council. At least two and probably more of its members who are familiar with the park will join us to talk about the park and its trees.
In addition to the outstanding collection of rare fruit trees, the park has many plantings of tropical ornamentals. We’ll probably tour for an hour or so, leaving plenty of time for those who also wish to visit nearby Robinson Preserve.
Location & Directions:
Palma Sola Botanical Park is located at 9800 17th Ave NW, in far west Bradenton, just north of Geraldson Community Farm and just across the corner from Robinson Preserve.
From north and central Sarasota go north to Route 70, west to 75 St W, and north, crossing Route 64, to 17th Ave NW and go west.
From the southeast take I-75 to Route 70 and go west to 75th St W. From the north take the easiest way to west Route 64 and then 75th St W.
Join us if you can for this easy, enjoyable outing.
