It’s finally here…MangoFest, next Tuesday!
TFSS officers have scoured the state and will have as many as nine varieties for tasting. Members are encouraged to bring their own home-grown mangos of known variety.
Please prepare them in bite-sized (1/2-to-3/4 inch) cubes, in a serving dish or tub and ready for tasting, and bring a small sign telling the variety. Those who bring mangos to sample or plants for our raffle tables will receive a free first-round raffle ticket.
We’ll also enjoy a presentation by friend-of-the-club Steve Cucura, owner of Fruitscapes LLC on Pine Island. He’ll speak on the Complete History of Mangos. Steve always gives interesting and informative presentations, and this is a most unusual opportunity to learn the history of one of our very favorite tropical fruits. Don’t miss the 4th annual TFSS MangoFest!
Cost: Guests – $5 | Members – Free
NOTE: Per tradition, there will be no meeting in August. We will resume our monthly meetings in September.
