After a month of hiatus while the Sarasota Garden Club was undergoing some summer renovations, we’re honored to have Steve Cucura speak at our September meeting on annonas for Florida.
The annona family of fruit trees includes the sugar apple, the cherimoya, the atemoya, and many other species of rare fruit trees. Besides sharing tips on how to grow them, Steve will discuss old and new selections for the home grower and answer questions to help you get the most out of the annonas currently in your garden.
Steve Cucura is the owner of Fruitscapes on Pine Island and friend of TFSS, as well as the provider of fruit trees for our annual Tropical Fruit Tree Sale every April.
This meeting promises to be an informative one, whether you’re a beginner with annonas, or a seasoned grower interested in adding new varieties or improving your trees’ health and yield.
We welcome non-members to attend any of our meetings; your first meeting is free and after that you’re welcome to join or just pay the $5 meeting guest fee. We hope to see you there!
