6:30 PM – 8:30 PM May 28, 2019 | Sarasota Garden Club
Join us May 28 for a very unusual and interesting topic— tropical root vegetables. Most root vegetables from temperate climates are difficult to grow here in Florida, especially in the summer. But species like cassava, boniato (Cuban sweet potato), dasheen (taro root), jicama, and tropical yams can flourish. Dr. Wang will tell us the ins and outs of these very useful additions to our edible landscapes.
Dr. Wang is from the Miami-Dade County IFAS office, and formerly from the University of Florida’s Tropical Research and Education Center. For those of you interested in having something growing in your garden year round, you won’t want to miss this talk. See you there!
